Cutting Plastic Bags to Make Plarn Balls

Cutting the plastic bags was just the beginning of our sculpture making adventure.  Each shopping bag had to be carefully folded and cut in a particular way. We had soooo many plastic bags we can't believe we used them ALL!

Sketching Sculpture Ideas in the Living Classroom

Superb Sketching in the Scorching Sun

At a hot hot day we drink our milk. I was doing Tuhituhi and sketching the fence at the living classroom. Then we lined up to go back to class.

A big thanks to those who have sent plastic bags into A1!!!
We have started to cut our plastic bags in preparation for making plarn! We have a lot of work to do so stay tuned.

We are making sculptures this term and we will be spending time outside in our living classroom sketching parts of the fence and railings.  It is very important that our sketching in the living classroom are done correctly so we spent some time outside practicing how to sketch an item we are looking at. We were careful to add as much detail we could and make our sketches look like the item we were looking at.
